Looking Glass is a concept for an AR exhibition taking place in London’s botanical gardens. The exhibition explores our experiences of navigating through the real and the simulated in our oversaturated culture. The exhibition combines photography of real flowers distorted by mirrors, with digital 3D flora to create virtual sculptures. These are then placed in the ‘real’ natural environment of the botanical gardens through augmented reality. The digital and the physical become interwoven and difficult to distinguish from one another. This is all experienced through the viewers phone, our ‘looking glass’.
The identity utilises metallic typography, with the typeface Pilowlava chosen to represent the conflict between natural and synthetic with its organic but modular form.
